Old Friends

In this case not someone but somewhere - on Friday I took my first trip to Kellogg to collect my university pass and then today I used it in anger to get into the Sackler Library where I did quite a bit of research for the MA - like stepping into another world. Outside Oxford in full Saturday shopping frenzy (not helped by all the roadworks), inside absolute silence - every time I coughed it sounded like an explosion and I kept waiting for a librarian to come and kindly tap me on the shoulder and explain that I could not stay making all that noise.

Good to be back in the flow a little and got to read what I went for.

Sub Fusc

So have

  • Single Sign On
  • New email address (and already changed to Tony)
  • Booked Matriculation date
  • Booked Coming Up dinner
And have been and bought the full sub fusc, gown and mortar board. That's all good. Books read not so good, need a final spurt, so far 6 out of 17 "real" books as opposed to dictionaries. One a week would make a difference!

College Paperwork and Reading

So finally (I think) all the various bits of paper signed, financial standing accepted and contract in place. Now waiting for date and "stuff" like information on the matriculation requirements (like gown and suit) ahead of the start of term.

Very slow progress on the books front.
